Winter and summer

In summer the Rouge River is run by canoe or raft, and the sand beach at the bottom of the property serves as the day's base. In winter the P'tit Train du Nord becomes a cross-country ski and snowmobile trail, and Mont-Tremblant is about thirty minutes away for downhill. The private hot tub and gas fireplace do the rest.

Getting there

From Montréal, allow about two hours via Highway 15 then Route 117. From Québec City, closer to four and a half hours. The village of Rivière-Rouge, with its grocery store and restaurants, is a few minutes from the cabin — useful, because you do not leave easily once you have settled in.

With children

The private sand beach is shallow and watched at a glance from the deck. Indoors, the games room holds a pool table, foosball and an arcade cabinet. A high chair is provided, and the heated bathroom floor makes itself felt after a day outside.
